Balance and coordination are two of the most important gross motor skills in a child's physical development. Balancing uses mechanical principles and helps kids understand concepts such as gravity, equilibrium, counterbalance, etc, allows children to participate in sports and physical activities, it reduces their risk of injury and improves their ability to perform everyday tasks.

Sense of balance via a child’s vestibular system is critical to learning, it also affects their sense of self-esteem and confidence. If balance is underdeveloped or has glitches, a child may have difficulty later in the classroom environment with reading, writing, attention and focus, behaviour, and retaining information.
