For 1 year old, they are often intrigued by pull and push forces, curious about colors, sounds, lights and reflections. They like to move things in and out of containers and in months to come, they start to stack and balance things. They will like toys that link together, hammer and peg sets, and filling and emptying containers.
Between 18 months and 2 years, they will get better at recognising similarities and differences in things, and they’ll start sorting things into groups such as cars, blocks or animals.
They will also begin to try matching and fitting, and can do simple puzzles, such as shapes or familiar animals. Your child will love looking at pictures, and will enjoy naming familiar objects and animals.
